Livni on nationality law: We will not stray from principles

Speaking at a meeting of the Hatnua party faction, Minister Tzipi Livni rejected the idea that delaying voting on the nationality law might lead to a compromise.

"We are standing at a crossroads and must decide between unity and division," Livni said.

"The nationality bill drafted by Elkin is a bill of division," added the justice minister.  "It brings Israel to a bad place. I understood that the vote was delayed by a week. In any event, whether today, tomorrow, or in the future: we will not stray from these principles."
