UNRWA declares emergency in Gaza after storms

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees announced a state of emergency in Gazaa following stormy weather and flooding that befell Gaza City over the past 48 hours. No injuries were reported, but hundreds of residents were forced from their homes. A UNRWA school was also flooded.

"We are very concerned about these strong storms so early in the season," said UNRWA, adding that they had established a situation room and were advising with the the Palestinian government and Gaza's city hall.
