Research finds 1 in 8 Israeli youth suffer from serious and enduring abuse
One in eight Israel children and teens suffer from serious and enduring abuse including rape, physical and emotional abuse, and indecent assault according to results from a study conducted by Professor Zvi Eiskovits and Professor Rachel Lev-Wiesel from the Research Center of the University of Haifa.
The study was conducted during the last three years and 10,500 Jewish and Arab children and teenagers between the ages of 11 and 17 from 250 schools around Israel participated in the study.
The study will be presented on Monday in the Knesset's Education, Culture and Sports Committee.
