Hapoel Tel Aviv soccer player arrested over deadly hit-and-run

A Hapoel Tel Aviv soccer player was in court Tuesday over a deadly hit-and-run in southern Israel a day earlier that left a pedestrian dead.
Khateb Obedia is suspected of hitting Naif Ashkar, 39, from the Nazareth area, with his car and killing him, then fleeing the scene. He turned himself in to police hours later.
His remand was extended by another three days at Nazareth Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
