Lapid lashes out at Netanyahu over last-minute funding for settlers

Former finance minister Yair Lapid lashed out at Tuesday at favorable treatment for the settlements, citing last-minute legislation hastily passed by the Finance Committe on Monday, the last day of work before the 19th Knesset dissolved ahead of March 2015 elections.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "is holding a going-out-of-business sale of the state," Lapid said, referring to approval of a permanent new community for former Gaza settlers, millions of shekels for existing settlements and the construction of a new neighborhood over the Green Line in Jerusalem.
