Poland's Constitutional Court heeded a petition by the European Jewish Association to cancel the ban on Kosher slaughtering techniques enacted by parliament.
Rabbi Menachem Margolin, head of the European Jewish Association, welcomed the decision, saying that the organization had "prevented the creation of a dangerous precedent that would have affected all Jews in Europe". Margolin added that European Jewry was suffering from a wave of attempted anti-Jewish legislation inrecent years.
