Germany planning to train Kurdish fighters in Iraq
Germany plans to participate in an international military mission aimed at training Kurdish fighters battling Islamic extremists in Iraq.
A Foreign Ministry spokesman says Chancellor Angela Merkel's cabinet will decide on the mission next week, but he wouldn't confirm a report in the Bild Thursday that more than 100 German soldiers would be sent to northern Iraq.
