Pakistan: US drone strike kills 5 militants
ISLAMABAD - Pakistani security officials said a US drone fired two missiles at militant hideout in a northwestern tribal region bordering Afghanistan on Saturday morning, killing five Taliban fighters.
Two officials said the strike took place in the town of Datta Khel in North Waziristan, where Pakistani troops have been carrying out a major operation against local and foreign militants since June.
The officials said the slain men fought under local Pakistani Taliban commander Hafiz Gul Bahadur.
