Plan to rehabilitate Aravah after oil spill will cost NIS 17m.

Deputy Environmental Protection Minister Ofir Akunis will present a plan to the government on Sunday to rehabilitate the Aravah and the Evrona Nature Reserve following the oil spill in Be'er Ora earlier this month.

 

According to the proposed plan, the government will allocate NIS 17 million and extra manpower to deal with the contaminated soil and rehabilitate the wildlife population in the area.

 

In addition, a team will examine the environmental aspects in the Eilat Ashkelon Pipeline Company's activities on land and in the shores.
