AG freezes Netanyahu's attempt to expand minimum wage ahead of elections

Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein has frozen Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Economy Minister Nafatali Bennett's attempt to raise the minimum wage, citing the move's proximity to the upcoming elections.

 

Weinstein announced Thursday he is freezing an attempt to extend an agreement reached between Israel largest labor union and the industrialist sector according to which the minium wage would be set at NIS 5,000. Netanyahu and Bennett had hoped to extend their agreement to all public sector workers.
