Head of African Hebrew Israelites, Ben Ammi Ben-Israel passed away
Ben Ammi Ben-Israel, the founder and spiritual leader of the African Hebrew Israelites of Jerusalem, has died over the weekend.
Ben-Israel (born Ben Carter in the US) led a group of Black Hebrew Israelites from the US in the 70s to Liberia and later to Israel, settling them in Dimona, where he and his community eventually received permanent residency permits in Israel, despite not being eligible for citizens ship through Law of Return.
