Deri to supporters: 'I will keep working, continue studying Torah'
Thousands of Shas supporters rallied near the home of Aryeh Deri in the Har Nof neighborhood of Jerusalem in order to convince the former chairman to rescind his resignation.
Deri spoke to the activists on the phone. "I have not forgotten what Maran (Rabbi Ovadia Yosef) told me before his passing, I will continue caring for the poor and to love God in the name of the people of Israel. Out of concern for your safety, I ask you to disperse so that none of you catch a cold. It is time to return to study Torah," he added.
