Investigation into Givati sexual assault clears commander of cover up attempt
The IDF Spokesman announced the results of an investigation, led by Major General Sami Turgeman, which was conducted to examine events that occurred in the Givati brigade's 432nd Infantry Battalion on Friday and said that the investigation showed that a Givati colonel did not try to hide information about claims of sexual abuse against one of his lieutenants.
The investigation examined the way Brigade Commander Colonel Ofer Vinter conducted himself after claims were made that Lieutenant Colonel Liran Hajabi committed indecent acts with two female soldiers. IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz said that the investigation showed that Vinter acted professionally and that there was no evidence he tried to cover up the incident.
Gantz dismissed Hajabi on Thursday over the allegations.
