A massive winter storm is expected to hit Israel a few days from now, but early signs of it can already be felt - including rain, strong winds and the snow that started falling atop Mount Hermon.
Dozens of Israelis took advantage of the fact the Hermon ski site is still opened for free and arrived there to play in the snow that is piling up on the lower parts of the mountain.
The site's employees are busy with maintenance work on the facilities, so they can be used as soon as the weather allows opening the site for skiing.
Site management hopes that there will be enough snow for skiing as early as Saturday, or Sunday at the latest. At the moment they are fielding dozens of calls from people asking when they could come and ski.
In what is undoubtedly good news for ski enthusiasts, the high prices at the ski site could drop soon, after the Israel Land Authority signs an agreement to that end with the site's management. When the agreement comes into effect, the prices will go down 20 percent.
