Yisrael Beiteinu MK gives testimony on corruption scandal to police

MK Shimon Ohayon of Yisrael Beiteinu arrived Monday at the offices of the police's Lahav 433 organization to give testimony regarding part of the corruption scandal surrounding officials in high places. At this point, he is not considered a suspect in the case. Up to now, Deputy Minister Faina Kirschenbaum is the only MK to be interrogated.

MK Ohayon was called for questioning in relation to a secondary affair involving the Israel Basketball Association.

Investigators suspect that the Basketball Association received one million shekels from party financing funds in exchange for a transfer of NIS 100,000 to Batya Cohen, the wife of Ministry of Agriculture Director Rami Cohen.
