Obama invites Tunisian president for visit
US President Barack Obama has invited to the White House his Tunisian counterpart Beji Caid Essebsi, the first democratically elected head of state in the history of the country, four years after the revolution that triggered the "Arab Spring".
Obama on Monday called Mr. Caid Essebsi to congratulate him on his victory, praising the "spirit of compromise" shown by the Tunisians during their democratic transition as "historic". The White House said the date the visit of the new Tunisian president had not yet been set.
