Two Frenchmen arrested in Yemen for allegedly having ties to Al-Qaeda

A high-ranking source in Yemen reported on Saturday that two individuals of French nationality were arrested for having ties with the local Al-Qaeda branch. According to the source, the two suspects were undergoing questioning.

 

Last week, Al-Qaeda in Yemen released a video message in which they announced they had been behind the attack against the Charlie Hebdo satirical weekly in Paris which resulted in the murder of 12 people. It was further announced in the video that the attackers Cherif and Said Kouachi trained with Al-Qaeda in Yemen prior to the Charlie Hebdo attak.
