Israeli ambassador to US says it is Netanyahu's 'sacred duty' to address Congress

The Israeli ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer, came out in support of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's scheduled speech to Congress two weeks before the Israeli elections and said: "It is the prime minister's sacred duty to do everything in his power to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons that will be directed towards Israel."

 Dermer made the remarks during an appearance at the Israel Bonds Gala dinner in Florida and added that, "the visit of the prime minister is not intended to show disrespect to President Obama. Israel deeply appreciates the strong support we receive from him in several areas. There is one goal for the prime minister's visit in Washington – to speak while there is still time to make a change."
