Ya'alon set to become first defense minister to visit India

Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon is set to visit India on February 17 - the first such visit for an Israeli defense minister to the country since diplomatic ties were established between the two countries. Ya'alon is scheduled to meet with high-ranking officials in India and attend an arms conference in the city of Bangalore.

Israel has attached great importance to the visit and sees it as a breakthrough in security relations with India. The visit may also result in security deals between the two countries which could bring the Israeli economy billions of dollars.
