Libyan military officials: Radical militias took control of Gaddafi's chemical weapons stockpile

The Arabic international newspaper, based in London, Asharq Al-Awsat, quoted Libyan military officials Saturday who said that the country's extremist militias took control of chemical weapons dumps belonging to former Libyan leader, and now deceased, Muammar Gaddafi.
The sources expressed their concern that deadly substances, such as sarin gas, would reach the hands of the Islamic State group.
"Unfortunately, the gunmen took control of the places that have chemical weapons and they have in their hands enough to use in a war against the military," a Libyan military source was quoted as saying to Asharq Al-Awsat. It was also reported that one of the militias had already conducted an experiment with the chemicals.
