Israeli tourism to Germany up 14%

With 869,343 overnight stays by Israeli tourists in 2014, Jewish state is sixth source market for Germany among countries outside Europe.

Data released by the German National Tourist Board on tourists' overnight stays in the country in 2014 place Israel as the sixth source market for Germany among all countries outside Europe.

According to the figures, which were published ahead of ITB Berlin, the world's largest tourism trade fair which opened Tuesday, 2014 recorded 869,343 overnight stays by Israeli tourists in Germany – a 14% increase from 2013.

Out of all the Israelis' stays, 46% were in Berlin. A breakdown of the average number of nights a tourist spends in the German capital places the Israeli tourist in the first spot with at least three overnight stays in Berlin. Other tourists, from countries outside Europe, spend an average of only two nights in the city.
