17 people killed in Yemen clashes
Security and local officials say at least 12 people have been killed in violent clashes between al-Qaeda militants and Shiite Houthi rebels in the central province of Bayda.
The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to reporters, say the clashes erupted after the militants targeted three Houthi positions. Separately, security and tribal officials say 5 people were killed in clashes between two tribes, one of them pro-Houthi and the other anti-Houthi.
