A soldier from Be'er Sheva was arrested for alleged incitement and threats against left-wing candidates for Knesset in statuses and comments he published on Facebook. The arrest came after the soldier wrote that "if a leftist takes power, I promise and swear on my soul that I will be the next Yigal Amir" – a reference to the assassin of former prime minister Yitzhak Rabin.
The suspect implicated himself and will be brought before a hearing on extending his remand.
