Jon Voight: Obama doesn’t love Israel

In an urgent message to the Jewish state, Hollywood actor says US president's 'whole agenda is to control Israel. In this way, he can be friends with all of Israel’s enemies.'

"I love Israel. I want to see Israel survive and not be overtaken by the mad men of this world," 76-year-old Hollywood actor Jon Voight said in a video published Sunday on the JustJared.com website, in which he criticizes the way US President Barack Obama's is handling America's relationship with Israel.

"President Obama does not love Israel," he added. "His whole agenda is to control Israel.

In this way, he can be friends with all of Israel’s enemies. He doesn’t want (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Bibi Netanyahu to win this upcoming election.

"America has not been the same since his presidency. I beg all of you to understand the truth," concluded the actor, who is known as a staunch supporter of the State of Israel.

This isn't the first time that Voight comments on Israel's diplomatic relations with the United States. In July, he slammed the American administration for its conduct during Operation Protective Edge, saying during an event in Las Vegas: "President Obama and Secretary Kerry are sending all the wrong messages to the entire world. They do not really have Israel's back covered as they say they do. Instead of telling Hamas to stop sending rockets into Israel aimed at civilian population, they say Israel has to stop killing civilians. What a travesty of justice.

"We will not tolerate propaganda and lies about Israel being aggressors and suppressors of the Palestinians. It seems anti-Semitism is very much alive and finds the way to exterminate Jews with ignorance and intolerance."

Voight also published a public letter in the Hollywood Reporter against colleagues Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem for signing an open letter referring to Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip as "genocide."

"I am more than angry, I am heartsick that people like Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem could incite anti-Semitism all over the world and are oblivious to the damage they have caused," he wrote, saying they should "hang their heads in shame, come forth with deep regrets for what they did, and ask forgiveness from the suffering people in Israel."
