Egypt on the Israeli elections: 'We expect government to work to restart peace process'

The spokesman of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Badr Abdel Atti said Wednesday that Egypt expects that any government formed in Israel to be committed to diplomatic efforts that will bring about the renewal of peace negotiations with the Palestinians.

According to Abdel Atti, "The renewal of negotiations will bring an end to the occupation and the conflict based on the two-state solution that ensures the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem with the '67 borders."
