Muriya after giving birth to baby girl.

Wife of terror victim gives birth to baby girl

Muriya Arami, who was pregnant when her husband Netanal was killed when someone cut his cord while he was rappelling at a construction site, gives birth to a baby girl prematurely; family says it will not rest until those responsible for his death are caught.

Happiness was marred by sadness over the weekend for Muriya Arami when she gave birth to her third child. Muriya is the widow of Netanel Roi Arami – a construction worker who fell to his death in September while working on a construction site, an event that at was first considered an accident and later revealed by the Shin Bet to be the result of a nationalistically motivated attack.

Muriya gave birth to a baby girl, who she named Efrat. Netanel's mother said she felt "joy mixed with sadness. Netanel did not get to hug his daughter who was born with tears of joy…"

"The police made a lot of mistakes before finally deciding it was a terror attack," said Miriam. "We will not rest and will not be quiet until the terrorists who cut the cord that led to Netanel falling are caught."

Arami owned a construction company contracted to do exterior work on a high-rise building in central Israel. During the fatal day in mid September, Arami was rappelling along the side of a Petah Tikvah building in order to seal vent openings when both his cables snapped and he fell 11 stories to his death.

The police first said his death was an accident, while his family maintained otherwise – two months later the Shin Bet announced that Arami had been murdered in a terror attack after an unknown individual had cut the rope that Arami had been rappelling on.

Arami's family was later recognized as official victims of terror.

The Petah Tivka court further cleared for publication that the Shin Bet had arrested three suspects for their role in his murder, but were eventually released due to lack of evidence.

On the morning of his death, Arami had taken Muriya to an ultra-sound appointment and said goodbye to his two children Eitan, 3, and Aviah, 2.

Netanel's mother says that her son did not even manage to tell her that his wife was pregnant before his death.

Muriya arrived at the Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon last Friday and gave birth to Efrat, who was born prematurely. "It's definitely because of everything Muriya went through since Netanel was cruelly murdered," said her mother-in-law Miriam.

"Muriya had a hard labor," says Miriam. "Two days ago she touched Efrat for the first time and hugged her. We hope that the girl will be released from the hospital and that we will be together at home for the Passover holiday."

Ever since the murder Muriya and her children moved to Ashkelon in order to be closer to their extended family.

"For Eitan, the oldeset child, it was the hardest. He waited every day for his father to come to his room," said Miriam in tears. "They needed a change and it did good – especially for Eitan."

To this day Arami's family still harbor anger at the police who waited two months to announce Netanal's death as a murder – something his family had claimed from the beginning.
