Arab Israeli sentenced to 11 months in prison for trying to join rebel forces in Syria

The Kfar Saba Magistrate's court sentenced Yusef Nurallah Makalansawa to 11 months in prison and a suspended sentence of a year and a half after he settled a plea bargain and admitted to illegally leaving the country and negligently transferring information.
Nurallah decied to join Syrian rebel forces after his friend died during battles in the region. Nurallah was captured by the Syrian government, transferred to Jordan and then extradited to Israel.
