Yigal Amir, the assassin of late prime minister Yitzhak Rabin, who is serving a life sentence, petitioned to the Lod Administrative Affairs Court requesting that the Israeli Prison Service (IPS) give him back a DVD player taken from his cell three months ago, Ynet learned on Tuesday. Amir, who is classified as a security prisoner, claimed that the device was taken away unjustly.
"I am serving 20 years in solitary confinement," Amir wrote, "and the only way I can see my 22 nephews is on the DVD. That was how I was able to watch family events and Torah lessons, as well as listen to music." The IPS said that their response to the petition will be given in court.
