Libya militia-backed parliament fires head of government
The spokesman for Libya's militia-backed government says the head of the government has been dismissed after an investigation into reports he had presented misleading information about government revenues.
Spokesman Omar Humeidan told reporters the decision by parliament Tuesday to dismiss Omar al-Hassi doesn't impact the rest of the government. He said the investigation followed requests by the Central Bank and other ministers to probe al-Hassi for making misleading comments, exaggerating government revenues amid complaints of its inability to pay salaries.
