With Passover and the Seder meal approaching, the IDF has stocked up on holiday essentials for the soldiers spending the holiday away from their families, at their bases.
The army has bought 80 tons of matzah, 6.5 tons of Nile perch, 39 tons of different kinds of meat, 11 tons of matzah meal and potato flour, as well as 11,000 bottles of grape juice for Kiddush and 9,500 bottles of carbonated drinks. For dessert, the soldiers will enjoy 7.5 tons of kosher Passover cookies.
The IDF spokesperson reported that the army will provide the bases and outposts with a special and rich menu for the Seder evening and days of Passover, including food items needed in order to observe kosher dietary laws.
In addition, the IDF will deliver 5,000 Passover meals to soldiers stationed at outposts, lookout posts and pillbox posts.
The army also encouraged the citizens of Israel to travel and enjoy the country's attractions. The IDF spokesperson reminded that Israelis are forbidden to enter Area A in the West Bank and that the entry into Area B is not recommended.
