In a statement distributed to reporters, Israeli officials are denouncing the framework nuclear agreement reached between Iran and world powers. The senior officials called the deal a bad framework, and said an agreement based on the framework would be a historic mistake.
The officials said Thursday that the deal would leave much of Iran's suspect nuclear infrastructure intact and did not address Iran's support in the region for hostile militant groups. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity pending a formal statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Their statement echoed concerns raised by Netanyahu in recent weeks as the deal appeared imminent.
