Police hope to extend remand of Hebron kidnapping hoaxer
Police claim that an Israel youth feared kidnapped Thursday in the West Bank had faked his own kidnapping as part of a hoax, and is now requesting a court extend his remand.
Niv Asraf, 22, was found alive in the Hebron settlement of Kiryat Arba on Friday night with a sleeping bag and canned foods after being reported missing by friends 10 hours earlier.
Police also requested the Jerusalem Magistrate Court extend the remand of one of Asraf's friends, who they say helped him stage the hoax which promoted a massive manhunt.
