A Dutch national who was held in captivity by jihadists for nearly four years is preparing to fly back home.
Sjaak Rijke, who was abducted from a hotel in northern Mali in 2011, flew into Mali's capital Bamako Tuesday on his way home. In Bamako he met with Malian officials.
He was freed on Monday in a French special forces raid on his captors' hideout.
The Dutchman appeared in a video posted in November by al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb, but it's not clear exactly who was holding him.
