VIDEO: UN chief tries Israeli shakshukah for Independence Day
Israel's Ambassador to UN Ron Prosor gives UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon a taste of Israel for Independence Day.
Ron Prosor, Israel's ambassador to the UN, decided to give the international body a taste of Israel in honor of Israel's 67th Independence Day, offering UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon a plate of hot shakshukah.
"Shakshukah is like Israel - It's a melting pot like our culture: It's hot and spicy like our nature, and once you get a taste, you always come back for more," a beaming Prosor told Ban.
"Taim meod" ("very tasty" in Hebrew), Ban said after tasting the classic Israel dish comprised of poached eggs cooked in tomato sauce with peppers and onions.
