Majority of sirens sounded in north likely result of human error

None

The majority of sirens sounded throughout most parts of the Golan Heights and the Galilee earlier Tuesday as a result of mortar shells fired from Syria into Israel were apparently false alarms. It appears that they were erroneously activated by the Home Front Command's National Alert headquarters after the mortar shells landed in the area of Kibbutz Ein Zivan in the Golan Heights.

Soldiers serving at the Home Front Command's National Alert HQ apparently pushed the wrong buttons and set off sirens throughout widespread areas in the north.
