Lapid slams decision to appoint Litzman deputy health minister

Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday for his plans to appoint only a deputy minister for the Health Ministry.

"On Saturday night I'll turn to the prime minister in a letter, demanding to appoint a health minister to head this important ministry," Lapid said at a cultural event in Kfar Saba.

"If Netanyahu doesn't intend to do that, and appoints MK Litzman as deputy health minister, we'll turn to the Supreme Court," he added.

Lapid also had qualms with the choice to appoint United Torah Judaism MK leader Yaakov Litzman. "A person who won't pledge allegiance to the State of Israel can't be at the helm of the Health Ministry," he said.
