Ethiopian Israelis set to protest in Jerusalem starting at 11 am

Roads were closed in Jerusalem on Sunday morning ahead of another protest to be carried out by Ethiopian Israelis. Jerusalem police announced they would be bringing in reinforcements ahead of the rally.

The protest in Jerusalem is the second of its kind in the past week following a video that showed a police officer beating an Ethiopian Israeli IDF soldier for no apparent reason.

On Sunday evening, a protest held by Israelis of Ethiopian descent in Tel Aviv turned violent after police and protesters began clashing. Protesters through stones and overturned a police vehicle near Rabin Square in Tel Aviv and police threw stun grenades and dispersed water at the crowd.
