Celebrity rabbi sentenced to year in prison in bribery case
Tel Aviv District Court sentenced celebrity Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto to a year in prison, after the rabbi pled guilty to bribery, attempted bribery and obstruction of justice and struck a plea deal. The rabbi will also pay reparations worth NIS 1 million. Pinto was convicted of bribing high-ranking police officer Superintendent Efraim Bracha in the amount of NIS 400,000 as well as for obstruction of justice.
