Lapid: We must lead an adjustment in Israeli society

Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid posted on his Facebook page Friday, saying that he decided not to give a speech during the swearing in of the new government in the Knesset on Thursday, despite having already written it down and carrying it in his pocket.

"I entered the plenary session with a folded paper containting a short speech sitting in my pocket," wrote Lapid. "But then the chaos of Gilad Erdan began, followed by the embarrassment of Tzachi Hanegbi."

The former finance minister included the speech that he had planned on giving. "If this new government and this new Knesset have one mission, also for us in the opposition, it is to lead a large adjustment in Israeli society. We have to re-learn to be united and we need to start doing this today."
