Several Iraqi army officers allegedly collaborated with the Islamic State and facilitated the group to take over the Ramadi region, the wife of a senior ISIS commander Abu Sayyaf, who was killed by the US army in a special mission, told American forces during her interrogation, a report in Saudi paper Okaz said.
According to the report, Iraqi intelligence opened an investigation in light of this information.
Meanwhile, Asharq Al-Awsat reported that Iraqi army leaders claimed that the armed forces handed over Ramadi to ISIS in a matter of hours.
