Human RIghts Watch accuses Saudi-led coalition of using banned cluster munitions in Yemen

Human Rights Watch (HRW) has once again accused the Saudi-led Arab coalition fighting in Yemen of using banned cluster munitions which have wounded civilians including children.

HRW cited at least two cases of civilian victims of the munitions banned by an international treaty. On April 27, near the village of al-Amar, in the Saada region of northern Yemen, at least 2 civilians were wounded by a clusterbomb dropped by an airplane.

On April 29, in the village of Baqim, near the Saudi border, four civilians, including a ten year old boy, were wounded when unexploded submunitions went off after fighting.
