Deputy UK Ambassador: We are vehemently opposed to calls to boycott Israel

Deputy UK Ambassador to Israel Rob Dixon said that "the British government vehemently opposes calls to boycott Israel. We are deeply committed to promoting trade and business ties with Israel, as part of the prosperous partnership between the two countries".

Dixon added: "Britain will never let those who want to boycott Israel to impede a 60-year partnership that does so much to strengthen both countries.

Tuesday, the UK's National Union of Students (NUS), which represents millions of students at British higher education institutes, decided Tuesday to join the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement against Israel.
