Israeli police recommend license requirement for electric bikes
The traffic department of Israel's police force has asked the Ministry of Transportation to alter regulations for electric bicycles, including a requirement for that cyclists must possess a driver's license. The police also recommended a mandatory license for the bikes themselves.
The traffic department said that only a change in regulations would make it possible to effectively deal with the safety issues raised by electric bikes.
