Palestinian government to resign within 24 hours
A Palestinian political source confirmed to Ynet that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced Tuesday that the Palestinian government would resign within 24 hours. The source added that Abbas is set to meet with Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah. The President is expected to request that Hamdallah continue as Prime Minister and form the new government.
The source also said that the government's resignation is due to its lack of ability to act in the Gaza strip and the roadblocks that Hamas have created for it.
