Deri refuses to sign agreement on break up of gas duopoly

The Security Cabinet decided Thursday to pass the discussion on breaking up a duopoly on Israel's gas fields to the general cabinet of sitting ministers after Economy Minister Ariyah Deri refused to sign an article in an outline that would see two companies sell off shares in their ownership of Israel's gas fields.

The outline was passed in a unanimous vote when Deri said he refused to sign. The security cabinet said that the issue was of "political-security" importance and could therefore be passed to the government for discussion.
