Israeli police take up posts in east Jerusalem before Friday prayers
Thousands of police were posted in East Jerusalem Friday morning, in anticipation of huge crowds expected at the Temple Mount to mark the third Friday of Ramadan.
Authorities closed several roads in and around East Jerusalem and said they encouraged Jews coming to pray at the Western Wall to arrive by public transit and not in private vehicles.
