FC Utrecht fined for anti-Semitic chants at Ajax match

Dutch top-flight club FC Utrecht has been fined for anti-Semitic chants by its supporters at a match against Ajax last season.

The Dutch football association on Friday fined Utrecht 10,000 euros ($11,195) and ordered it to play its next home game against Ajax with one of its stands empty following the chants that marred an Eredivisie match on April 5.

Ajax is traditionally seen in the Netherlands as a club with strong Jewish support and its fans have been targeted with anti-Semitic chants in the past.
