PM's envoy arrives for visit with Mangisto family, apologizes for threats

Lior Lotan, the prime minister's envoy on hostages and missing persons, apologized to the Mangisto family Friday afternoon for threatening the family not to publically criticize the government in the case of their son Avraham, who authorities believe has been held by Hamas in Gaza for the last 10 months.

"The things that were said don't reflect the way I work, my values or my way of thinking. I feel a deep need to apologize to the family."

Lotan made the comments shortly after arriving at the family's home in Ashkelon where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was also expected to arrive for a visit with the family.
