Masked youths riot at Temple Mount

Masked youths barricaded themselves overnight Saturday in the Temple Mount complex, launching fireworks and throwing stones at Jerusalem Police forces that arrived. A number of police officers were lightly wounded.

Police reported that the youths had planned a lengthy showdown and had tied the doors of al-Aqsa Mosque to prevent them from being closed. Police managed to shut the rioters inside the mosque, and the Temple Mount was open to visitors for Tisha B'Av by 8am.
