Turkey: Number detained in anti-terror raids exceeds 1,000
Officials in Turkey say the number of suspects detained in a major anti-terror operation launched three days ago has exceeded 1,000.
Since Friday, Turkey has been carrying out airstrikes against IS targets in Syria and Kurdish rebel positions in northern Iraq. It has simultaneously launched a police sweep against people suspected of links to the Islamic State group, the Kurdish rebels and the outlawed HKP-C left-leaning group.
